Another Exciting Year at the BSAVA Congress 2014!April 8, 2014
The BSAVA Congress is a key annual event in the small animal veterinary world which took place at the National Indoor Arena and International Convention Centre in Birmingham last week.
The BSAVA Congress is an ideal opportunity to hear from many experts in the field. The theme this year was "global outlook" and as usual, there was a packed scientific programme covering a diverse range of lecture topics in the main scientific programme, as well as shorter clinical research presentations, small group sessions and practical workshops. There were numerous sessions and talks that we would have liked to attend, but we mainly focused on the orthopaedic topics. We kicked off this year's BSAVA congress with talks covering cruciate rupture and fracture planning, and we finished the day with Dr Alice Roberts fascinating keynote talk looking at the embryological links between animals and humans. Friday started early with the orthopaedic sessions running all day; it was difficult to keep pace but we learnt a huge amount, listening to presentations outlining old problems, new techniques and novel approaches from the likes of John Innes, Jason Bleedorn and Alessandro Piras.
During the breaks we visited the trade exhibition, which was huge. As well as the "normal" stands, there were some weird and wonderful additions, the human-dog managed to scare people as they walked past and the F1 car simulator on Plhmedical's stand was great fun. We caught up with current customers that have been using Sonivet, as well as meeting new faces, which gave us an opportunity to talk to them about Sonivet and how it is used to accelerate fracture repair and promote healing of tendon & ligament injuries in cats and dogs. We had excellent feedback about our recent article in Veterinary practice, with customer expressing particular interest in using Sonivet to promote healing in delayed and non-union fractures, such as the calcaneal fracture outlined in the article, as well as numerous other indications for example; osteotomy sites following cruciate ligament surgery ; tibial fractures in cats and many more. We aim to get as many of the case studies written up and on the website as soon as we can.
Sonivet is available to vets and suitably qualified persons. If you would like to discuss Sonivet further, we can be contacted via firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 0191 375 9083
